Candidate for IEEE President-Elect 2021

Greetings from Professor Saifur Rahman, Virginia Tech (USA) and President of IEEE PES for 2018 and 2019. I am running as a petition candidate this year for IEEE President-elect. The election will be held in Aug-Sep 2020. But as a petition candidate, first I will have to get signatures to qualify and put my name on the election ballot. The deadline for signatures is 30 April 2020.

My petition for the office of IEEE President-Elect is now available online at IEEE members can enter the site with their IEEE userID and password, and can click on Annual Election Petitions tag, which will take them to the page with my name for signatures. Please note that all IEEE members including graduate students can sign. Please sign the petition and encourage your colleagues in northeastern India to sign the petition as well. As the IEEE President my focus will be to make IEEE more global so that IEEE is more relevant to the work our members do. Also, I will work to get more participation from volunteers in Europe, Africa, Latin America and Asia in IEEE governance. A broader based IEEE will make the Institute more relevant to technologists and academics from all parts of the world. My Facebook page is
